China will take a raft of measures to stabilize and improve the quality of foreign trade in the second half of the year (H2) to consolidate its resilience, a commerce official said Thursday.

China's foreign trade of goods jumped 9.4 percent year on year to 19.8 trillion yuan (about 2.94 trillion U.S. dollars) during the first half of the year, official data showed Wednesday.

On the afternoon of June 22, Mr. Peng Qiming, President of China Mining Association & Chairman of the Organizing Committee of the China Mining Conference and Exhibition 2022, met online with H.E. Mr. Siyabonga C. Cwele, Ambassador of the Republic of South Africa to China. 

Business representatives from the BRICS countries pledged Wednesday to enhance multilateral cooperation to safeguard the common interests of emerging markets and developing countries.

BEIJING -- As the world economy struggles with a lingering pandemic and increasing headwind, China is expected to continue to act as a stabilizer for the global economy with its sound long-term fundamentals.
